What makes Fuji Ryu different from other styles?

If you have looked into other forms of ju jitsu, you may recognize more than a passing resemblance of our style of ju jitsu and styles such as Hakko Ryu and Sosuishitsu Ryu. Fuji Ryu is significantly influenced by these two styles, though the divergence from the two is notable. We put particular focus on modern application, especially to defend against multiple attackers. We also practice and drill instinctive responses to various attacks during class, leveled appropriately to your rank and readiness.

An observer may also recognize the basic building blocks of other Japanese martial arts such as Small Circle and Danzan-ryu. The reason for this is that all these styles have similar origins, together with aikido, hapkido, and judo. Modern practitioners of ju jitsu mainly practice neoclassical styles such as Fuji Ryu, classical styles such as Sosuishitsu-Ryu, or grappling styles such as Gracie (Brazilian)Jujutsu based on individual goals and objectives.

We offer a strong focus and style of self-defense that enables the practitioner to flexibly adapt to change quickly with effective and instinctive responses to attack. We provide a martial art that can be practiced at all ages and levels of readiness. Please feel free to visit us to get in contact with one of our senseis and get you or your child started on your first class.
